ELIMINATE FOOT PAIN:
There are 2 (Two) Types of Custom Orthotics. These are Custom Functional orthotics that correct abnormal foot "Function" and Custom Accomadative orthotics that correct or eliminate abnormal increased pressure points at the bottom of the feet to provide comfort.
Excellent and the primary treatment for Heel and Arch pain medically known as Plantar fasciitis and Heel spur syndrome. Common conditions that require FUNCTIONAL ORTHOTICS would be appropriate for Bunions, Clawed toes, Hammer toes, Morton's Neuroma, ArchPain, Heel Pain, Plantar Fascitis, Heel Spurs, Shin Spints, Arthritic foot and ankle Joints, Knee pain, Hip pain and Lower back pain. These are commonly an important treatment for a condition known as PLANTAR FASCITIS. Plantar Fascitis is usually associated with an acute pain at the bottom of the heel, the arch or both. The pain usually presents upon rising from bed in the morning or after sitting for periods of time.
Common conditions that require ACCOMMODATIVE ORTHOTICS would be appropriate for Painful reocurring Callouses at the Bottom of the Feet and Painful Heels and Arch areas that are NOT normally painful when initially standing from sitting or from arising from bed. The Pain normally only occurs after standing and or walking for longer Periods of time. These are also very common for diabetics because they relieve pressure from the major pressure areas at the bottom of the feet which helps to prevent diabetic ulcerations.
Athletes of all sports would benefit from FUNCTIONAL CUSTOM ORTHOTICS versus ACCOMMODATIVE CUSTOM ORTHOTICS.
Functional Orthotics are Great at alleviating Pain at the Feet, Ankles, Knees, Hips and Lower back. They provide proper support at the Arch and additionally straightens the heel to help keep the foot in its proper position which then aligns the Ankles, Knees , Hips and Lower back to stop excessive strain at the ligaments and tendons at these areas.
The devices correct the entire posture for the Alleviation of Pain and Optimum Performance for Athletes. They normally can be transferred from one shoe to another, depending on the depth of the shoe. This is my 30th year in Podiatry and when the devices are correctly and professionally constructed, excellent results of Comfort and Allevaiation of Pain are the usual outcome.
